The “Hard Knocks” franchise will have its first regular season episodes when “Hard Knocks In Season: The Indianapolis Colts” debuts on November 17th on HBO.
NFL Films announced the series during halftime of the game between the New York Giants and the Washington Football team on Thursday night.
It will be the Colts’ first appearance in “Hard Knocks,” which debuted in 2001 as they followed the Baltimore Ravens through training camp as they began defending their Super Bowl title. The Dallas Cowboys recently completed the 16th edition of the documentary series and will be the first to make three appearances.
The Colts series will have at least nine episodes at 10 p.m. ET on Wednesday night.

“We couldn’t be more excited about bringing Hard Knocks and the remarkable behind-the-scenes access it offers for the regular NFL season,” said Ross Ketover, senior executive of NFL Films, in a statement. “For years fans have been calling for a season edition to be added to the Hard Knocks world, and thanks to HBO and the incredible collaboration of the Colts, we can deliver.”
NFL Films filmed the “All Or Nothing” series for Amazon Prime Video for four years, where it followed a team for the entire season, but those episodes weren’t available until the following summer.
The Colts are trying to return to the playoffs but have dropped their opener against the Seattle Seahawks. Indianapolis was traded for quarterback Carson Wentz during the offseason, and linebacker Darius Leonard was NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2018.
The series could also feature coach Frank Reich, who is in his fourth season.
