Coronado Mayor Richard Bailey recently announced that he would run for Congress at the 52nd It looks like he would run against MP Scott Peters, who has held the seat since he ousted Republican Brian Bilbray in 2012.

Bailey is Republican and the borough, once pretty close, leans pretty hard to the left. It went for President Biden by 62.2 percent to 33.6 percent for the former President Trump. Bailey was an outspoken critic of the region’s public transport plans and the state’s housing policies and goals to curb and prevent climate change. He is the proud owner of firearms and advocates access to them.
