Polis said Friday that 75% of people 12 years and older in Colorado received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Bookman said Friday that Colorado had fewer than 200 ICU beds available. Bookman added that Colorado hospital stays dwarfed the spring 2020 first wave number.

There were 902 COVID-19 hospital admissions in the state on Friday – the second-highest high of COVID-19 patients in a wave of the pandemic to date.

“The unvaccinated burden for our hospitals is profound and affects all Coloradans as those who are vaccinated will have difficulty receiving the same level of care in the hospital that they would receive if there were fewer COVID hospital stays,” Bookman said .
