Leicestershire Sisters on their option to Olympic glory

While the dust settles in Tokyo, two teenage sisters have been talking about how they want to support each other towards Olympic success on the track.

Indiane and Shaikira, of Loughborough, Leicestershire, were both recently crowned national champions, with 13-year-old Shaikira running the UK’s fastest 1,500 meters for her age while Indiane, 17, currently represents Team GB’s U-20 squad.

Although they attended similar events, the sisters said they enjoy running together.

“A lot of people would think it’s going to be put under a lot of pressure, but I don’t think so at all,” said Indienne.

“Me and Shai, we both talk to each other about what we’re struggling with and we help each other out.”
