Muhammad Ali’s grandson Nico Ali Walsh wins the primary skilled match

Nico Ali Walsh paid tribute to his grandfather Muhammad Ali when he won his first professional match in a pair of shorts that he had given him.

The 21-year-old made the fight easy and knocked Jordan Weeks to the ground after 70 seconds.

The middleweight bout in Catoosa, Oklahoma, on Saturday night was finally stopped before the end of the first round.

“It’s just an emotional journey, this whole ride,” said Ali Walsh.

“That fully met my expectations.

“Obviously my grandfather, I’ve thought about him so much. I miss him.”

Muhammad Ali won the world boxing title three times and his legendary status in the sport led to his being selected as BBC Sports Personality of the Century in 1999The fighter known as “The Greatest” died in 2016 and fought Parkinson’s Syndrome for over three decades.

Ali Walsh studies business administration and is the son of Ali’s daughter Rasheda Ali.

After the win, Ali Walsh celebrated in the ring with Bob Arum, who also promoted his grandfather’s 27 fights. Ali Walsh is under contract with Arum Top rank Company.
