Omaha man killed Tuesday morning motorbike accident
An Omaha man is dead after a crash Tuesday morning.
According to Omaha Police, officers near the 35th and L. investigators were called to the scene at 10:45 am. Investigators said a semi-trailer truck and trailer were turning east from L Street onto 35th St. when a Yamaha motorcycle driven west by 20-year-old Andy Mendoza tried to avoid the semi. According to police, the Yamaha crossed the lanes eastwards and was hit eastbound by a 2017 Dodge minivan.
According to the OPD, Mendoza was taken to Nebraska Medicine with ongoing life-saving measures but died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
The investigation is still ongoing.
