This family-owned business is run by fireknife champions Malakai Don Lavatai, Brandon Tulei Lavatai, and Jeurell Seanoa Lavatai, along with their father, Malakai F Lavatai, and long time friend Jason Wright, luau visionary out of Maui.
This Samoan family from the village of Nu’uuli on the island of Tutuila, American Samoa, has been a force to be reckoned with placing in the top 3 or winning first in competitions around the world including in Apia, Anaheim, Utah, American Samoa and has built a strong reputation.
In fact, only recently, brothers Malakai, Jeurell and Brandon competed in Toa Afi, the fireknife competition in Orlando, with Malakai securing the first-place position and Brandon claiming second place out of 16 contestants.
In 2009 and 2011, the Lavata’i brothers became first-place group champions at the prestigious World Fireknife Championships held at the Polynesian Culture Center in Hawaii. These champions have now taken their art to the Luau Orlando dinner show presented by Polynesian Fire Productions, capturing the imagination of locals and visitors.
The company’s journey began in 2015 in Myrtle Beach, SC. A favorite of locals, it drew huge crowds.
